Sónia Pereira holds a PhD in Human Geography from the University of Lisbon. Since September 2018 she joined IOM – UN Migration Agency to coordinate the project Providing Refugee Resettlement assistance to the Government of Portugal. Between 2013 and 2015 Sónia Pereira held a post-doc position at the Institute of Human Rights at the University of Deusto. She has been working on international migration since 2000 both within academia and for intergovernmental organizations and NGOs. Her research interests include labour migration, as well as migrants’ socio-economic inclusion, socio-spatial practices and artistic and political participation.
