Assistant Professor at the Institute of Geography and Spatial Planning, (IGOT-UL) since 2019. Principal investigator of the BeSafeSlide project – Landslide Early Warning soft technology prototype to improve community resilience and adaptation to environmental change (PTDC / GES-AMB / 30052/2017), FCT – Foundation for Science and Technology the Technology, IP.
Researcher in several national and international research projects: 2019-22: RISKCOAST – Development of tools for prevention and management of coastal geologic risks related with climate change (SOE3/P4/EO868), Interreg SUDOE; 2016-2019: FORLAND – Hydro-geomorphologic risk in Portugal: driving forces and application for land use planning; 2008-2010: MapRisk – Methodologies for assessing landslide hazard and risk applied to municipal planning. Member of the team of Risks and Civil Protection in the elaboration of PROT of the West and Tagus Valley.
Published more than 30 peer-reviewed scientific articles in international journals (Earth’s Future, Landslides, Science of the Total Environment, Natural Hazards and Earth System Science; Natural Hazards, Environmental Earth Sciences, Geomatics, Natural Hazards and Risk, Journal of Coastal Erosion) and book chapters (Elsevier, Springer, CRC Press, A.A.
