Biosketch

Pedro Guimarães, PhD in Geography, by the Institute of Geography and Spatial Planning (IGOT), of the University of Lisbon. Assistant Professor at IGOT and integrated researcher at the Center for Geographical Studies, University of Lisbon.
His research interests focus on the dynamics of transformation that take place in urban environments, especially in the study of commerce and its relationship with cities, addressing topics such as urban regeneration, urban governance, demalling, retail gentrification, retail resilience and retail planning policies. It is on the study of this relationship that he has focused his research, with recent publications in journals, such as Cities; European Planning Studies; Urban Research & Practice; Planning, Practice and Research, among several others. Member of the international research network City, Commerce and Consumption, and the Urban Resilience Network.
