Biosketch
Nuno Marques da Costa was born in Lisbon in 1960, graduated in Geography, Master in Human Geography and Regional and Local Planning, PhD in Human Geography, is an Associate Professor and researcher at the Centre for Geographical Studies at IGOT University of Lisbon, in the Modelling, Land Use and Territorial Planning (MOPT) group.
He is the current coordinator of the MSc in Geographic Information Systems and Spatial Modelling applied to Spatial Planning and is co-coordinator of the Mov – Intelligent Urban Mobility Network of ULisboa and representative of the University of Lisbon at the EIT (European Institute of Innovation & Technology) Urban Mobility.
He has developed work in the field of regional analysis, modelling, mobility and transport. Since 1982 he has been consultant for public and private entities and developed work for DG Regio and within the Framework Programmes and the ESPON and INTERREG programmes of the European Union.
