Biosketch
Miguel Leal is a MSc in Physical Geography and Spatial Planning, and a PhD in Geography by the Institute of Geography and Spatial Planning, Universidade de Lisboa (IGOT-ULisboa). Honourable mention awarded by the Portuguese Association of Geographers within the scope of the Orlando Ribeiro National Geography Award (2018-19). Currently, he is a Postdoctoral researcher at the School of Agriculture, Universidade de Lisboa, in the project People&Fire: Reducing Risk, Living with Risk. He is a researcher at the Centre of Geographical Studies, Forest Research Centre and Associated Laboratory TERRA. He was part of the research team of the european project SMIRES (Science and Management of Intermittent Rivers and Ephemeral Streams) and the project exPERts (Making sense of planning expertise: housing policy and the role of experts in the Special Rehousing Program, PER).
