Resumo biográfico
João Forte was born in 1978 at Coimbra city. He is a consultant in geodiversity, geoconservation and territorial marketing. Concluded the first degree in geography, at Lisbon University in 2004. In December 2004 started to work in Alvaiázere municipality, till March 2008. Concluded the master degree, also in geography, at the same university, in 2009. Between 2007 and 2009 he won four scholarships from the “Marie Curie actions”, to go to the Karst Research Institute, in Slovenia. In 2014 concluded the PhD in sciences, at the Minho University, Braga (Portugal). In 2017 he won a scholarship from the IGOT (Lisbon University) to work at the “Estrela Aspiring Geopark” for 6 months. At the same year we worked, as a consultant, at the Terras de Coura Landscape Plan, the first municipal landscape plan in Portugal. He reviewed an article for the “Applied Geography Journal – ISSN: 0143-6228” in 2017 and for the “Geoheritage journal – ISSN: 1867-2485”. in 2019 and 2020. Since 2006 he participated in dozens of international meetings, in fourteen countries, besides others in Portugal. He is associated of APGeom and ProGEO. He is also a speleologist.
