Biosketch
Ignacio García Martínez is a researcher at the Center for Geographical Studies granted by the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (2017) to develop a Ph.D. in Urban Resilience (ISEG, Development Studies program).
Ignacio García Martínez has a bachelor’s degree in architecture from the Superior Technical School of Architecture of Madrid ending with merits in 2011. He was granted to study in the Illinois Institute of Technology (Chicago) during the academic year 2008-2009 where he received a distinction for academic excellence.
In 2013 Ignacio ended a master in Advanced Architectonical Projects with a specialization in Theory and Criticism of Architecture (ETSAM), participated in the research group ARKRIT (ETSAM) and assisted in teaching as a mentor in the “Architecture Studio” course.
During the year 2014-2015 earned a scholarship from the Government of México to develop a research in “City, Territory and Sustainability” at the University of Guadalajara. For the same period, Ignacio taught “Theory and methodology of Architecture” and “Energetic Efficiency” courses in the Technological Institute of Monterrey (Guadalajara Campus).
