Biosketch
Associate Professor at IGOT -Institute of Geography and Spatial Planning, Universidade de Lisboa, and senior researcher at CEG- Center for Geographical Studies, He divides his research into two major fields: a) the geography of retail and consumption; b) geographic education and active learning. In the first domain, the research covers the resilience and sustainability of urban retail systems; time and temporality in retailing; the consumption-led urban regeneration and the phygitalization of urban place-making. In the second field, the research covers the threshold concepts and powerful knowledge in geography, and the design of significant teaching-learning experiences involving problem-based learning, active fieldwork strategies.
