Biosketch

Specialist in planning and sustainable development, Fernando holds a PhD in environmental sciences and a master’s degree in spatial planning (FCT/UNL). He took professional training in journalism (CENJOR) and he has skills in photography and video, having carried out several audiovisual projects. He has twenty years of professional experience – research, lecturing and consultancy – in topics related to the environment, spatial planning, heritage, natural resources management, monitoring and evaluation of policies and projects. Between 2013 and 2015, he served as advisor to the Secretary of State for the Environment in the XIX and XX Constitutional Governments. Fernando works as a parliamentary adviser in the area of ​​the environment. In 2017, published the book “Better government – How to modernize governments so that they are able to respond to the needs of citizens and to the challenges of the future”. In 2018, he published the book “The Underground Lisbon of the Marquês de Pombal – In search of the secrets of Águas Livres”. In 2020 he published the book “The underground Lisbon on the hill of hospitals – Roadmap of Águas Livres from Campolide to Intendente”.
