Biosketch
– Assistant Professor at the Institute of Geography and Spatial Planning of the ULisboa; Effective researcher and coordinator of the RISKAM group (Environmental Hazard and Risk Assessment and Management), at the Centre for Geographical Studies;
– publication of around 60 papers and book chapters, of which more than 50 in international journals with SCOPUS index, with emphasis on the following topics: river flood modelling and impact, soil erosion by water, landslides, land use changes in Portugal, vegetation dynamics in coastal areas;
– participation in a dozen and a half scientific projects, national and international, with emphasis on the themes: river dynamics and floods; landslides; coastal risks; wildfires;
– participation in more than 30 consultancy and service provision projects, at national, regional and municipal levels, in which the following themes stand out: National Ecological Reserve; Natural and Technological Risks; Hazards in a climate change context;
– supervision of dozens of master’s and PhD works, highlighting the susceptibility to hazardous phenomena (river floods, soil erosion and gullying, soil contamination, landslides, evolution of land use, climate change, etc.).
