Biosketch

Eduardo Gomes (EG) latest research work is focused on the design of modelling and collaborative simulations employed to analyse future land use and land use cover changes. EG was invited to lecture in several universities/research centres worldwide such as at Beijing Forest University (China), at Institut des Systèmes Complexes de Paris (France), at Future Cities Laboratory and the Complexity Institute (Singapore), at the University of Copenhagen (Denmark), and Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (Australia). EG has participated in several scientific projects with national and international funding. EG received recognised awards, such as the Portuguese National Geography Award (Orlando Ribeiro) for the best PhD thesis, best scientific paper award in Human Geography, outstanding contribution in reviewing for scientific journals, and the jury award for the best agent-based model at the MAPS8 workshop that took place in Nice (France). EG is an Editor and reviewer of several scientific journals.
