Biosketch
Eduardo Ascensão is a researcher at Centro de Estudos Geográficos, University of Lisbon. An anthropologist and urban geographer, his research is on urban informality, postcolonial urbanisms, infrastructure and architecture. He has published in journals such as the International Journal of Urban and Regional Research, City and Antipode or in edited volumes such as the Handbook of Gentrification Studies. He is currently developing a multi-sited project on the models of slum intervention in Portuguese-speaking cities Bissau, Macau, Lisbon and Rio de Janeiro (https://www.technoscienceslumintervention.org/) and is PI (Principal Investigator) of the project ‘Inhabiting Siza’, on the residents’ experience of Álvaro Siza’s architecture.
