Research Group: RISKAM
Research interests:Hazard, vulnerability and risk in estuarine and coastal zones; Methods and techniques for risk assessment and management; Land use planning; Recent evolution of estuarine and coastal areas; Sea level rise consequences and extreme events.
From January 2011 to March 2016 Ana Rilo was researcher fellow at Laboratório Nacional de Engenharia Civil – LNEC (National Laboratory for Civil Engineering), in Hydraulics and Environment Department, Estuaries and Coastal Zone Unit in the projects “MORFEED: Morphodynamic feedback of estuarine margins to climate change” and “MOLINES: Modelling flood in estuaries. From the hazard to the critical management” both funded by FCT.
Currently, Ana is a doctoral research fellow financed by FCT, developing her doctoral thesis regarding estuarine flood risk under the supervision of Professor José Luis Zêzere (IGOT-ULisboa), Assistant Researcher Paula Freire (LNEC) and Professor Alexandre Tavares (Universidade de Coimbra).
Ana is also a team member of project “FORLAND: Disastrous floods and landslides in Portugal: driving forces and applications for land use planning” coordinated by CEG-IGOT and funded by FCT.
