Biosketch

Ana Gonçalves has a degree in Geography, specializing in physical geography. In 2018 she completed a master’s degree in Physical Geography and Spatial Planning, at the Institute of Geography and Spatial Planning – University of Lisbon, having developed her Master’s thesis with the title “Assessment of the exposure of local communities to wildfires: the case of Alvares, Góis”, under the project “Rehabilitation of Burned Areas in Alvares”.

Since November 2019, she is an associate researcher at the Center for Geographic Studies (CEG), in the research group on Environmental Risk Assessment (RisKam), with participation in the project “Analysis of Susceptibility to Rural Fires for Mainland Portugal”, organised by the Institute for Nature Conservation and Forests (ICNF).

In 2022 he started his PhD, at the Institute of Geography and Spatial Planning, in the Center for Geographical Studies, with a fellowship funded by FCT with the theme “The influence of land use transition and socio-demographic dynamics in the evolution of fire risk in Portugal”.
