COVID-19 and Tourism: Survey on the effects of the pandemic on tourism, travel and vacation plans

The COVID-19 pandemic is having far-reaching consequences for the travel and tourism sector. Thus, the research group TERRITUR – Tourism, Heritage and Territory of the Center for Geographical Studies (IGOT-ULisboa) is launching a survey aimed at probing future trends for the sector.

Bulletin 1 | COVID-19 – Geographic expression of the number of confirmed cases in Portugal

Professors and researchers Nuno Marques da Costa and Eduarda Marques da Costa write about the geographical expression of the number of confirmed cases, in Portugal, that relate to the pandemic of the new coronavirus (COVID-19). The numbers analysed were from March 25 to April 1, 2020.

Results of the Forland project in “Público”

Público publishes results of the FORLAND project – Hydro-geomorphologic risks in Portugal: driving forces and application for land use planning, from the Center of Geographical Studies (IGOT-ULisboa), which created a risk index in order to establish the probability of the occurrence of a flood that may impact populations. Launch of the College of Polar Sciences and Extreme Environments
