Marcelo Fragoso is Assistant Professor at IGOT-UL – Institute of Geography and Spatial Planning, Universidade de Lisboa. His main research interests are Climatology, Hydroclimatology and study of climatic/meteorological extreme events. His PhD thesis was focused on precipitation climatology in Southern Portugal. He was the principal investigator of a research project on thunderstorms over Portugal and assessment of the associated impacts (RAIDEN). He has been member of different research projects in CEG on environmental hazards and risks assessment and currently collaborates in a project on Climate of Portugal since the XVII century (Klimhist).
