European meeting of Phytosociology, Biogeography and Syntaxonomy of Atlantic Regions
Praia city – Santiago Island – Cape Verde. 5-7 November 2017.
The X Meeting of Portuguese Association for Vegetation Science will be at Cape Verde 5-7 November 2017. The organization will be under the responsibility of the Phytos (Portuguese association for Vegetation Science), the SFP (Société Française de Phytosociologie) and the Cape Verde University.
The meeting will be in the auditorium of the Cape Verde University in Palmarejo.
Days 5 and 6 will be devoted to conferences, oral communications and poster presentations at the Palmarejo auditorium.
On the 7th we are organizing a geobotanic excursion through the Santiago Island.
Closing dinner will by at Praia (Santiago) on 7th with typical food from the Santiago Island and traditional Cape Verde music.
Important: the Close Dinner is reserved only for the participants who signed up for the Close Dinner at the registration form and have already paid the fees.
On the 8th November, will start the post-congress excursion to Fogo Island. This excursion will take place between 8-11 November. Please read the instructions on the excursions page.

All the organization of the post-congress excursion will be in charge of the Geostar company and the registration and payment will be made on the page “TRAVEL AND ACCOMMODATIONS”.
Very important: the post-congress excursion will be limited to the maximum of 60 persons. This limitation is insurmountable because small buses should be used due to the island being mountainous and with difficult accesses. For those who want to climb the volcano of Fogo we draw attention for the instructions and rules that are available on the excursions page. The last eruption of the Fogo volcano began on 23 November 2014 and finished on 8 February 2015.
