March 8 is deemed International Women’s Day. This commemorative date is the result of a series of demonstrations and demandscarried out by several groups led by women, fighting for better working conditions and equal social and political rights. Not only is this a date to celebrate, but it is also a date to reaffirm commitments.
The Centre of Geographical Studies (IGOT-ULisboa) recalls the Letter of Principles for Gender Equality signed in conjunction with other institutions.
This institutional commitment to Gender Equality for the year 2020 is also expressed in one of the tasks of the GEARING Roles project, developed at the centre. These commitments are in agreement with other European universities that have partnered with the project.
